Not Every GCC Is Built the Same

GCCs have stopped being a single template stretched across every enterprise. Motherson Technology Services works from a classification framework that groups centres by strategic intent, functional scope and capability depth, so a client's centre is designed against a specific brief rather than a generic one.

By strategy, a GCC can be Capability-Led, Cost & Efficiency-Led, Transformation-Led or Innovation-Led. By functional scope, it can run as Single-Function, Multi-Function or Enterprise-Wide. By capability depth, it can be Execution-Centric, Expertise-Centric, or Ownership-Centric, and most centres move between these positions as they mature.

That maturity typically follows four stages,

Stage 1, Skill Provider

Talent-driven resourcing with the client defining scope and oversight built for short-term tasks and flexible resourcing.

Stage 2, Project Management

Dedicated teams take ownership of specific modules or workstreams, billed on project effort and measured against agreed SLAs.

Stage 3, Delivery Ownership

Motherson takes on delivery accountability for high-value functions, sharing KPIs and risk, billed against milestones delivered.

Stage 4, Investment Model

A Build-Operate-Transfer structure in which Motherson owns infrastructure, operations and talent initially, with a planned transfer to the client.

Six Ways to Structure Your GCC Partnership

Choose the Ownership Model That Matches Your Ambition

Captive as a Service
(CaaS)

A fully owned GCC for the client, entity, governance, talent and IT, built for long-term scale.

Build-Operate-
Transfer (BOT)

Motherson builds and runs the centre, then transfers ownership to the client once it reaches stable operations.

Managed GCC

Motherson runs the centre end-to-end against agreed SLAs, while the client retains strategic oversight.

Hybrid GCC

A blended structure combining client-owned and Motherson-managed workstreams within a single centre.

Satellite GCC

A smaller, focused centre that extends an existing client GCC into a new location or capability.

Carve-Out / SPV

An existing captive unit is separated into its own legal entity, with Motherson supporting the transition and the operations that follow.

Every model runs through the same four-stage lifecycle,

Strategy & Design

GCC strategy and operating model, location and capability planning, business case and roadmap.

Build & Enable

Talent acquisition and workforce setup, engineering labs, digital and IT enablement, governance and transition setup.

Operate & Scale

Managed delivery and service governance, technology execution, continuous improvement and cost optimisation.

Transform & Evolve

New capability incubation across AI, digital and ER&D, Centre of Excellence set-up, and turn-key project execution.
